The Test of Faith: Keep the Faith
ایمان کا امتحان: ایمان کو قائم رکھیں
A lost traveler in the desert was nearing death due to thirst when he saw a mirage of a room. He thought it was an illusion because he had lost his way and was desperate to find water. However, he continued toward the illusion, hoping it might lead him somewhere. To his surprise, the room was not an illusion but had a hand pump installed.
The traveler quickly started pumping the hand pump, but after a while of usage, he realized that the pump was dry and unable to bring up water. Disheartened, he sat down. Suddenly, he noticed a bottle in one corner, filled with water and tightly sealed. He picked it up eagerly, ready to drink, but beneath the bottle, there was a note. Upon opening and reading it, the note said, "Fill the pump with water, pump it to use, and after use, refill the bottle and leave it here, please."
The traveler was faced with a dilemma. On one hand, he was extremely thirsty, and on the other hand, there was uncertainty about whether the pump would work or not. What if he wasted the water? The traveler, however, took a risk and poured the water into the pump. After a few moments, the pump started working. The traveler drank to his heart's content, bathed, and refilled the bottle, leaving it along with the note. But he also added a line to the note, "Have faith."
In the deserts of life, we also encounter situations like the hand pump. We are also tested to take risks just like filling the water bottle. We, too, fluctuate like that traveler. We also desire someone to give us assurance, patting our shoulders, saying, "You can do it." In these assurances, however, the most important thing is our faith. It is faith in the Almighty that guarantees this journey. "Have faith."
